My name is Jim Fisher. I was born in Dixon Illinois, The hometown of President Ronald Reagan.
My parents lived at that time outside the small town of Polo, IL on a small farm. I graduated high school in Metamora, Illinois in 1975. I went to Western Illinois University and graduated with honors in 1979 with a degree in Law Enforcement Administration. After graduation, I married my wife Jayne and began our journey through life together. I began my military service as a Commissioned Officer that same year at Fort Huachuca, AZ. Our first daughter was born while I was on active duty in Germany. After completion of my active-duty service, we returned to Illinois and bought a small farm west of Hudson, IL and have lived there for 36 years. We raised many animals and two daughters on our farm near Hudson. My first job here was managing a national chain restaurant which at the time was one of the most recognized in the nation. I then accepted a job as a claim representative for an insurance company and have since retired. Jayne and I have two granddaughters and two sons-in-law.
I decided to run for state representative when the state redrew the district maps after the 2020 census and a new district was created where I live. I am familiar with Bloomington/Normal as we have lived near there for the past 36 years. I am also familiar with East Peoria and the Peoria Area as that was the go-to city when I was in high school. All the land in between is farmland which I call home.
I have been involved with politics in our area for the past 30 years. I served on the Unit Five School Board. I have been a precinct committeeman and currently serve on the McLean County GOP executive board. My most notable activity was being elected as a delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention to nominate a candidate for President of the United States.
I label myself as a conservative Republican: I would fight for lower taxes. I would look for accountability in the state’s spending affliction. I believe in the right to life and the second amendment.
Vote for James Fisher on the Republican ballot on 28 June 2022, or during the early voting period!
